Its not as easy as it sounds to see defeat on her hands. Even if she lost her chance to become a President she is still going to be in the office for some other leadership role. Besides, her fateline 'depended' more on the masses and I doubt that we can see 'an island' on her fateline that would show her defeat.
The fact that Hillary was more popular and openly talked about with more experience in the Senate - proved to be counter-productive for her. As far as Obama, even I had no idea who he was till the nomination was announced. However, people are ready for a change (even if its a 'Hollywoodish President') - sometimes no experience is better than more experience but I dont know how worthwhile its going to be for the Presidency.
Besides, whoever becomes the President - the government of any country always sucks in one way or the other!

Rumors are now confirmed at Obama's website: Joe Biden will be his running mate.
(by the way, if Obama becomes - and I hope he will - I think Hillary might become a minister ... maybe economics? foreign affairs?)
