I've bought Apprentice to Pro in 24 Hours by Johnny Fincham, but my Psychology work is taking up all my time, so hopefully I can read and work through it soon.

I regretted not ordering both at once. The information was great and his writing style was interesting to read as well; a must have.:cool

I love Johnny's books and his way of writing and teaching, he has such a great understanding of hands and people. Last month when I was in Norfolk, I went to visit him, it was 9 years since we last met so we had a lot of chatting and catching up to do!

Den it is good to see that you are incorporating some of what you learnt from Johnny's books in your latest hand analyses.  :thumbup  Thank you also for often making me smile, I love your sense of humour.

Barbara re "I don't really believe I''ll be a pro in 24 hours". When I first read the proposed title of Johnny's book Apprentice to Pro in 24 Hours before it was published,  I thought (to quote Martijn) Pfff !!!  'I can't believe that Johnny has sold out to such a marketing ploy'! But when he sent me a copy of his book and I read the format, I understood that it's not "become a pro within a day":-)  When I thought about it, my beginners courses are 12 weeks long @ 2 hours per week = 24 hours!! and at the end of the course our students are competent handreaders. So of course it is possible!! As you said on another thread Barabara, it is one of those subjects where there is always more to learn, but yes it is possible to learn the basics in 24 hours of study!

:)Thanks Lynn, I think of the forum here as recreation and fun, and enjoy all the different and amazing contrasts in personalities of the regulars here...I think you are OK too by the way.

Johnny helped me evolve to the next level here lately, and I am delighted that you noticed. I was very impressed with his 30 minute interview from your web page, which meant getting that book right away. I read it cover to cover this week on my lunch breaks. I have to read over a few times to really get the concepts drilled in.

That is terrific that you got together with him. What do two old palmistry buddies talk about when you meet, or do you just read each others hands?:titter

Regards,

Den

Den, re "what do palmistry buddies talk about". One of the first things Johnny ever said to me was "Have you seen my passion line?"  :titter I bet he says that to all the girls!!

The interview with Johnny linked from my website is a written one isn't it? and the 30 min one a radio interview I did? (tch I can't remember what's on my own site!) Not sure if this one's there....
An interview with Johnny at his book launch, where clearly copious amounts of wine were drunk by the visitors! :-)

I have just received my own copy of 'Apprentice to Pro in 24 hours' and have been glancing through the pages this morning. I very much enjoyed Johnny's first book, The Spellbinding Power of Palmistry, which I thought was a great contribution to the palmistry world

This book is even better, with lots of examples and a clear way of putting the information across.  I have to add that I am finding reading through the assignments and quizzes particularly intriguing! I'm fascinated by what I am reading already!

Sue

Hi Lynn

The similiarities between Johnny's 'secret palmist assignments' and his 'brain bashing quizzes' and the A.dip.ICP course assignments and quizzes are quite startling, and appear as an amazing coincidence!

If I continue to offer the palmistry course in its existing format, students might wonder if I had copied some of Johnny's ideas out of this book, even though the A.dip.ICP course has been running in this format since 2001.

Obviously the presentation of the course material is different, and the A.dip.ICP course is designed to be more extensive and in-depth -  even so, the similarities in the format of the assignments and quizzes bare a striking, and somewhat worrying, resemblance to each other.

I may have to make some changes - yet again! At least it keeps me on my toes, and remaining in the 'creative' mode.

Sue

The palmists assignments are similar to homework I set for my students too, and the brain bashing like some questions I ask my students in class. Great minds think alike eh. :wink

:coolI think you guys are very similar in style; the way you pick through the psychology of the person piece by piece. You are both very good teachers; except you are much younger looking than Johnny is. (Made you smile didn't I Sue)
