Just curious if there are any other WoW players out there and if so what you've got going and what are your favorite things/classes/specs/etc?

I'm a guild master for a casual (mostly alt) cross-faction RP guild; We have both Horde and Alliance members. =)

I'm also a big altaholic so I don't technically have a 'main' but currently I'm gearing up my almost 69 Priestess (also have her almost keyed for Karazhan.) I've got 2 level 70's and a few others in their 60's with a bunch of baby alts at all Azerothian levels. I hate the 10 character limit/realm and end up deleting most alts before they hit their 50's.

My favorite classes are Priests (Holy) and Rogue (Hemmorhage) but I do like playing Prot Warriors, Feral Druids and BM Hunters. ^^

I never seemed to get into Paladins (my highest is 6th..) I think because I want to just finish off the target like a Rogue would with Eviscerate or a Priest with Shadow Word: Death. Mages and Warlocks are also my least favorite as they're too glass-cannonish for me and the Blueberry always gets in my way on my 'lock.

I also like to write novel-length stories about some of my characters. I've always loved RP and WoW's just a great way to meet other types of roleplayers.

Well hopefully I don't sound too nutty in this post; there's got to be other WoW players here...right, right?

Hi Eiren  :wave

I just read through your post twice, and I didn't understand a word of it!! :titter  WoW is a completely unknown world to me, and it's a whole new language! :scratchchin

Many members here have not yet found us here at the new address, so you may not get a response just yet, but given time.....  crossing fingers..... there may be someone who understands what you are talking about.  It certainly sounds interesting, albeit unknown to me.

.....I might just go and look it up ..........

Sue :)

*giggle* Yeah I figured that most wouldn't know what I was talking about. But at least those who did would know I wasn't just making it all up! ;)

For those who don't know the WoW jargon, basically what I said was:

I've been playing an online video game for a few years. A lot of my characters are at or near the 'end of the game' (if that's technically possible..) meaning I've seen a lot of the game and know my way around the digital worlds.

I can't settle down on one character to play because I love all the different options there are and try a lot of them. I sometimes pretend to be my characters in the video game; typing as if I was thinking like them and such. Sort of like how people act in theatre. Others do this as well and it makes for a lot of fun stories!

This game is played by millions of people across the globe and gives us all a chance to interact with eachother and learn about other people. I find this really fun as I can visit so many people without having to leave the house (and get a suntan!)

And...I was curious if anyone else plays this game and what their favorite things to do are in World of Warcraft.

***

Sue, I'll actually link you my guild's screenshot gallery so you and others who've never heard of the game can see how pretty the graphics are. =)

http://incognito.wowstead.com/gallery/1

To see some awesome footage in game I'd love to point you to a player-made trilogy movie (actually the intro to the 3rd movie. Fight scene so nsfw I guess.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCQ5QpqFsBw&feature=related

It's Machima, which is basically the graphics you'd see in game but characters are moved in different ways when filming (like extra special effects added.) Shows just how smooth the characters look when you play them. And that's just if they battle!

There are so many emotes and other actions in the game and some people don't level their characters at all. For example, some will don simple clothing and walk around the cities acting as commoners or whatever strikes their fancy. =)

It's really a game made for different type of gamers; some who like to roleplay up to the 'hard core raiders' who want to fight the big monsters and show off their cool armor they get at the end of the day.

Anyways, I'm rambling!

Hey Eirien

I knew exactly what you were talking about. I used to play WoW everyday before I found a job. It's so addictive! But I haven't got the time anymore and to be honest, don't really want to spend my money on it anymore either.

My character was a female dwarf (not a lot of them about really.) hunter, full beast mastery. Since I tried the hunter i couldn't go back to my holy pala, I just love the range too much.

Since you like wow that much you've probably heard of this, but just in case you haven't seen it: Look up 'Leroy Jenkins' on youtube, very funny :titter

Hey there!

Funny you say that, I too had a Dwarf Hunter, BM spec. I only got her up to 40th though as I had a lot of characters to focus on and with the 10 character limit I had to make room one day. Just deleted my 40th level Gnome Warlock as well for another slot. =/

I already had 3 other Hunters on that server so I didn't mind letting her go and I never really liked playing Warlocks anyways... could have been all the hate I have from playing my Rogues against 'locks and then getting lit up like a Xmas tree. XD

Now I have no character slots free as I've rolled a placeholder for a 67 warrior I'm transfering over to my main server this month. The server she was on is dying so a few of my guildies have decided transfering is the best thing for us all.

And yes, I know about "Leeeerrrrooooooyyy!!" and <Pals for Life> doing their promotional skit video in the forums, "Why can't we get this instance done, we shot a video; think you can give your advice?" It was one of the best viral marketing strategies for a recruitment video in WoW, wouldn't you'd agree? ^^

As for time, I hear ya. It takes a lot of effort to manage one's time without getting suckered into the "One more quest..." or "Just another mat to farm..." addiction. I don't work, but I've managed to keep my WoW time down pretty low due to my insatiable desire to craft things irl! :)

And $15 a month really isn't that much, imo, especially when you can compare one trip to the movies is $15 ticket, $4 drink, $3 popcorn, + tax!! And that's if you go to the movies alone! :P

Thank you for your post MyshMash, good to see another (or at least former) WoW player around on these forums. *smiles*
