Recently, I came across the following statement:

"...Hand Analysis has now moved into the realm of science rather than just entertainment thanks to the work of Dr. Charlotte Wolf of UCLA, Dr. Eugene Schiemann and the recent German study mentioned in the British Journal of Psychology..." http://www.kosmickonnection.com/index.html

Does anyone know about the above mentioned work and is there anyway to get this articles if I am not located in UK.

Thank you everyone.

Unfortunately she made some spelling mistakes in the names, and we don't know how "recent" is the research she mentions.

Charlotte Wolff's books are listed here http://www.cheirology.net/history/wolff.htm

Dr. Eugene Scheimann & Nathaniel Altman wrote "Medical Palmistry - A Doctors Guide to better health through hand analysis" Aquarian 1989   (maybe Dr Scheimann wrote other books too?)

Sorry I don't know the the German research but Martijn might know. The only ones I remember from "British Journal of Psychology" are British research on digit ratio.

Links to articles about digit ratio can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio

You can find all kinds of scientific abstracts here  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/ (for example put dermatoglyphics into search box)

Martijn has many references to scientific articles at his website http://www.handresearch.com/

Hello D$,

This is Martijn from The Netherlands.

Regarding the statement at Kosmickonnection.com, the mentioned sources are rather old - Wolff's research is from over 40 years ago, and Scheimann's research is from over 20 years ago, the German study is probably more recent but it is unclear to what specific study Kat Anders is refering to.

On my website I present an overview of the scientific developments during the past 4 years at:

http://www.handresearch.com/news/hands-in-the-news.htm

I hope this will help you a bit to acquire a picture of  the present stage of hand research worldwide.

Martijn.

PS. Thanks Lynn!

Martijn.
